There is a awesome tournament coming up in the Dallas area. It is called the Tara Sawyer Classic. It is for a good cause. Tara died due to a disease she got. She played baseball and loved it. You can see her story at www.tarasawyer.org .This tournament raises money for the Tara Sawyer Foundation. The tournament is Oct 3rd and 4th in the Dallas area. Waco Storm didn't do so hot this weekend. Lost 2 in a row to get knocked out early. Oh well guess we'll get em next time. I was very proud of my son this weekend. He hit the ball better than he has in a long time. He almost hit a homerun but ended up being a double. They have metal fences in the outfield and it sounded pretty cool hearing in bang off the wall. Anyway ,no tournaments next weekend just a college evaluation on Saturday.

What seemed to be the issue with them? Rusty? Or just the way it fell?
Tell me about the college evaluation. Who/what is that for?

The college evaluation is for all Storm players. They tell you where you are at as a player and give you info on what you need to improve on. Such as speed,hitting,etc....

That's cool! Who does the evaluation, a college coach, I guess?
Man, if I could afford to hire Coach George Banda for A BUNCH of private lessons with Mason, I certainly would! Maybe late winter I can get a few sessions with him.

The owner of the organization does it. He played in the MLB for 12 years. With Chicago Cubs(backed up Ryne Sandberg),Montreal Expos, and the New York Mets. I think he knows where they need to be.

If you want one of the best around come see him one time. He has helped Jarrayd so much. Jarrayd was 8-9 hitter, now he is leading off for our team. The only problem is he is not a fast guy. He is going through growing pains and his knees hurt to much right now. He did steal 3 bases this weekend though.

Well, I guess Jarrayd won't be going to the evaluation now. He just got asked to play in the Tara Sawyer Memorial tournament. Pretty excited for him. He must be doing something right to get asked to play with a team from Dallas. These guys are a real good baseball team. I will keep you updated.

That's very cool! Go Jarrayd go! If the ball field is in our database, can you post a link or tell me the name of it?

Wow! I would consider that a very good compliment to be noticed by another town. How far are you from Dallas?

Just an update from yesterday. We played one game in Euless before the rain let loose. Ended up postponing the tournament. Jarrayd went 2 for 2 as a pickup player. I was real proud of him yesterday. I wanted him to go in there and do good for them. He did that.

Awesome for Jarrayd aka Charlie Hussle! LOL! Glad he had success for them! You don't know how happy I am for you both to see him excel at something he loves so much! I wish I could catch more of his games!
