On a positive note, my youngest son who hasn't wanted to play anything but baseball. I found out there was a U11 soccer team that needed another player. I talked to him and he said no. I bribed him to go to a pre-practice. He reluctantly went. He came home and that's all he could talk about. I haven't seen him this gung-ho about anything since baseball. Not sure why he lost interest in it, but he's back. :)
baseball11
08-28-2009, 03:51 PM
That's good he is playing something. Alot of running will get his legs built up for baseball right. Strong legs means more hard hits. My son just finished his fourth day of 8th grade football practice. Now relax for a little while then to the baseball field to hit and field. He is playing in Mansfield,Tx tomorrow. Can't wait to see him play. Everyone have a safe weekend!!!
RickB
08-28-2009, 04:14 PM

I wish I could come watch him play, but I'll try to make it one day. Is it normal to be on Saturday? Adam's 8th and 9th grade games are on Thursdays.

Mason had his first soccer game/scrimmage (after only 1 practice) in 3 yrs. He looked timid and rusty, but loosened up some in the 2nd half. I was told this 10yr old team that he's on, was scrimmaging against an 12U select team. They lost pretty bad, but they actually didn't look terrible against them. You can see pics here:

Rick, have the Russian split apart "BallGameFinder" into separate words on the page template. And maybe change it to something with a mini description.
Ala...

These words are important to Google, and this will help you some.

Man, last night was awesome! One of my oldest son's friends, said something to me that I'll never forget! It was awesome! He truly is a good soul. BTW, he's #35 in the Jacksonville Indian Football pictures.
And another thing, I have this buddy from a lot of years, that we just don't make enough efforts to see each other. He had a 40th B-day party that I attended last Saturday night. First time I've been to his house and he's lived there 6 yrs. We had a great time at the small get-together. His daughter who is off in college contacted me to tell me how much her Dad was glad that I came over and that I was all he talked about. Well, it was great to hear, but what stuck out to me was that his daughter was thoughtful enough and took the time to send me a note to tell me that.
Awesome stuff in my book!

We won our Freshman game @ Corsicana Tigers 26-6. Adam did not have a good night. He's been a little bit sick all week and lost his starting position@ center. He was put in in the 2nd half and the very first snap was fumbled. You coul tell from Adam's reaction that he felt it was his fault. That would be his only offensive play of the game. He did get to play some later @ DE and looked pretty good. He loves defense and although he's been down on football, he looked very ready on D!

If I had my cell phone with me today, I could have posted a picture that displayed adding insult to injury on Friday nights varsity football game. What happened was Corsicana after losing the game had both the pep rally squad and the team in two separate groups on their side of the field. Jacksonville's sprinklers on that side of the field only cut on at a very bad time. Geez, someone had to apologize for that one! When I get home if I get time, I'll post up a picture. I didn't take it until the pep squad had scrambled off of the field.
BTW, Corsicana played a good game but had some key errors that probably swung it our direction. Their running game was killing us and their defense was pretty salty too. But kudos to Jacksonville for making it happen and Ryan Black who did a great job @ QB!

He has been down on football after he lost his starting postition at center, but his attitude has improved once the reality set in and he is gaining playing time again. He loves to be on defense and got to play some last game. He looked good and hungry too.
I don't care if he doesn't start....just hated to see it when he wanted to give up. But things are looking up and he's trying again! And we play against Hallsville tonight. Go Indians!

I think maybe the NY Giants vs Dallas Cowboys could be an interesting match up. It's too early for me to really make a predicition. Dallas's D is too soft.

My Packers play Cincy. COuld be a dangerous game. But Ocho Cinco is already running his pie hole about doing a Lambeau leap. He has no clue how much beer they'd pour on him. Let him try it.

Alexa ranking is just one form of measurement of your rank based on unique visitors (maybe even combined with repeat visitors...not certain). I'll feel pretty good when we get down to below a 200,000 rank. Right now we are still over a million. Steve gave me a heads up on a widget that installs on my browser and it shows the rank of any site you are on. It's not a super accurate depiction, but it helps to know if you are making progress.
stevefondy
09-23-2009, 06:35 AM
If you guys use Firefox, download the Alexa widget:
http://www.alexa.com/toolbar
Then open a tab with BGF finder in it and leave it open all day. This really helps. A higher Alexa can be used as leverage for advertising rates. Ultimately, you want to see it under 100,000. Once it gets around 150,000 it's slower moving :)

More hate?!? LOL!
Ok, here's how I see it. They are all businesses that are made up from people all over the US. No one team has players or coaches that are only from that state. There are individuals in some organizations who I don't care for. Jerry Jones, Terrell Owens, & Chad Ochocinco Johnson just to name a few. There are also non-Cowboy players that I like. Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Larry Fitzgerald for modern day and Joe Montana, Steve Bono, Barry Sanders, & Marcus Allen to name of a few there too.
Now nothing wrong with rivalries imo, but I just can't fathom team hate. ;)
I'm just sayin' (with elbows in). :D

A better game was Pittsburgh and San Diego. Seems like the Chargers were clicking pretty good when they were in the hurry-up offense. I'm not sure why teams don't do this in the middle of the game sometimes. It seems for solid teams that it can really throw the defense off.
baseball11

Yes, but things are fairly split up here. Many love Favre and hate the GM for giving him the shaft. My mother wants the Vikings to win, and she bleeds green and gold. That's how much Favre's Superbowl victory meant to us.
Me...I don't believe you should play for the enemy. Bears or Vikings are off limits.
RickB
10-05-2009, 10:05 AM

No, not sure.
I know he pretty much wanted to play for the Vikings since he left for GB.
Before he signed with the Vikings, he rented a ton of hotel rooms for the Minn vs. GB game in GB that's coming up. And he made sure everyone knew. This is personal. When you live in a rural area like this, you hear more then the national sports guys get a hold of.

---------------------------------------------
BRISTOL, Conn. (AP)—Brett Favre’s(notes) matchup with his former team has attracted the largest cable television audience ever.
His Minnesota Vikings’ 30-23 win over the Green Bay Packers on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” was watched by more than 21.8 million people. The previous record was more than 18.6 million viewers for last year’s Monday night game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.
ESPN also said Tuesday that the game drew the highest rating in the network’s 30-year history. The 15.3 rating beat the 14.4 for a Bears-Vikings game on Dec. 6, 1987, during ESPN’s first season of televising NFL games

hahah! No not too much. Had a lot of unpacking to do. Have a 5 person tent to dry out and clean. It's setup in the garage right now drying. But I was dog tired when I got home. Took a couple naps and still went to bed a tad early. The last night in the tent was during a decent storm and I woke up a bunch.

They cut the Cowboys game off here right as it was headed to OT. I wasn't happy.
